Title: Dslstats event log: unable to determine IP Address
Post by: renluop on November 09, 2013, 01:10:17 PM
I've never seen that comment before, so can I learn what it means, and why it should appear? Please!

Upstream about the same time was subject to instability, possibly when daughter phoned in and wife was chatting.

Perhaps my filter changes mentioned in another thread and its benefit was just coincidence.

DSLstats determines your IP address by running a small CGI script on my website and reading the IP address from the output of the script. If this process fails for any reason, or doesn't respond within a short timeout period, then you see that message in the event log.

The failure could be due to my website not responding within the timeout period, or because of a glitch in your internet connection.

I've made a note to add a button you can press at any time to get the IP address.
