Title: Image Format Changed

A friend has asked my help in opening photos from his daughter's pc, (In Australia) apparently the pics have changed format from jpegs to MVC- I've tried to open them with paint shop Pro X but the format not recognised.

I forwarded the emails with the attachments to my gmail account where they are shown as jpegs but will not open.

Can anyone tell what is happening and suggest a cure please?

I wonder if the single images have been converted to Multiview Video Coding (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiview_Video_Coding) data format, possibly in error?  :-\

Other than that, I have drawn a blank.
