Title: How to get bitswap data from Broadcom CLI?
Post by: roseway on January 20, 2013, 08:15:20 AM
I was intending to add a graph of bitswaps per tone to rs-ux/w, and I got it working, but then realised that my method wasn't valid. What I was doing was comparing the bit allocation in one sample with that of the previous sample, and taking the difference as the number of bitswaps since the previous sample. But I realised that there could have been a number of bit allocation changes (both up and down) during the period between samples, and these wouldn't get counted.

So my question is: is there a way to get true bitswaps per tone data from the Broadcom CLI?

I wasn't really expecting to get an answer to this, because I'm quite sure that the information isn't available from the Broadcom CLI. So I'm going to include this graph with the proviso that the figures aren't accurate, because it still gives a useful indication of the shape of bitswapping. I'll also include a graph of total bitswaps per minute, because this information is available from the CLI.
