Title: Hungry leopard eats data?
Post by: guest on November 06, 2007, 02:08:11 PM
The Inquirer is reporting a fairly serious bug with Apple's shiny new operating system.

http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2007/11/06/leopard-ate

Basically if you use Finder to move data to another volume (drive) and something causes that volume to disappear then Finder just deletes the data it was moving without copying it first.

Ouch.

Leopard works fine just so long as nothing happens to confuse it. If something happens it just deletes all the data and does not copy it to the new drive.

One person said that this flaw first appeared in Panther version of the operating system but the Iphone-obsessed Apple could not be bothered fixing it

Ouch indeed! :(

It makes you wonder what testing they do!

Apparently its been causing alot of BSOD's as well.

I personally can't wait to see the latest Apple vs PC advert at the cinema .
