Title: Race for life.

My daughter is this evening doing the Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Im sure you know, I feel that this is a very important charity which has helped many.

Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. Our groundbreaking work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has saved millions of lives. Survival rates have doubled in the last thirty years and we have been at the heart of that progress. But one in three of us will still get cancer at some point and our vital work, funded entirely by the public, will help ensure that millions more people will survive.


She is doing the run this evening with a friend dressed up as kitteh's.

Tifa & I ran the Race For Life earlier this evening, and we did it in 39 minutes! (The time as we came through the finish was 41 mins, but as it took us two minutes to even get to the start line, we decided it was only fair to deduct it ;) )

Thanks to you guys, we managed to smash our £100 target! In fact, we more than doubled it! We raised £180 online, a tax bonus of £43.72, and over £25 in cash, too ^_^ Our fundraising page also stays online for another two weeks, too, and we hope that people will be inspired by your genorosity and give a little bit too :)

Tif and I had a fantastic day! Lots of fun and fond memories :) We were incredibly inspired by peoples 'back signs', some were so incredibly touching. It began with 'I'm running the Race for Life for...' such signs as for 'Baby Alfie, who is still fighting. 4 months old.', 'My left boob!' and many other emotional tributes to friends, family and co-workers.

I ran with 'I'm running the Rave For Life for... My Ma & My Grandad <3 & Mark. R.I.P. We love you & miss you x x x' and Tif ran with 'I'm running the Race for Life for... EVERYONE <3 And Ricky, I miss you! x'

The crowd really spurred us on, and just after 4km, we got just the kind of inspiration we needed... Seeing the lion cubs from Blackpool Zoo, on top of their giant rock in their enclosure ^_^ The track ran right behind the Zoo!

Amazing :)

I echo the sentiments here, well done you ladies what a wonderfully worthwhile cause as I know from donating after OH's niece passed away suddenly at 40.
