Hi,
Im back using ff as my default browser and I am wondering how to set it so when I click on one of my bookmarks ,which are mostly on the bookmarks toolbar, opens up in a new tab.At the moment if I click on a bookmark,it just uses the same tab Im on.

Press 'Ctrl' same time as clicking on your bookmark.

Go to "Tools > Options > Tabs, then chose "a new tab"
Although I find it does not necessarily open a new tab every time so sometimes you need to use the back back button.

If you are new to FF, then these are some useful Recommended Add-Ons:

Grab the British English dictionary from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:3
Also, spell checker for FF you will need to get "spellbound" as ieSpell only works in IE. http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/

Another addon which can be very useful is "Add bookmark here" which adds a menu item of that name to the bottom of every bookmark section.

HINTS & TIPS:-
In "Tools / Options / General" you can set your start-up page to either your home page, a blank page, or the windows and tabs from your previous session.
On the tabs tab of options, you can actually force sites that would normally open in a new window to open in a new tab (This is the default setting).
The search box on the tool bar is set to google as default, but there is a nifty drop-down list of other searches which is customisable.
For example to be able to directly search wikipedia, imdb, bbc news, etc.
Disable blinking elements.
To stop blinking elements, use " about:config " to change the value of the preference browser." blink_allowed to false ".
Restart Firefox for the changes to take place
To stop FF taking over Favourite/Bookmark shortcut icons with it's own:
Set FF not to use favicons. Type " about:config " into the address bar, then type " browser.chrome " into the filter field then set the value of these two preferences to " false " by double-clicking on them. " browser.chrome.favicons " - " browser.chrome.site_icons "
Question: Is there any way of being able to send a shortcut to the desktop as you can with IE.
Answer: (NO) Just drag the url icon straight to the desktop.
Theres loads more to cover just about everything.
