Virgin Media internet blackouts hit the UK (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-4052598/Virgin-Media-internet-blackouts-hit-UK-Customers-told-without-broadband-January-2017.html)
Some Virgin Media customers are in for a frustrating Christmas, as internet blackouts across the UK are expected to continue until into the new year.
In the past few days, users in some areas of the UK have been complaining of regular internet outages during peak browsing periods.
Now the company has said its customers should not expect a fix until the middle of January next year.
As anyone heard anything about this? I'm not seeing people complaining on the forums so far.

One of my friends is with VM and she had no service for nearly 2 weeks. It is fixed now, but no idea what it was or why it took so long. She got so fed up of being messed around and her service over the past year that she's now moving to vdsl. I thought it was an isolated incident so no idea if it was related as I dont know that many people with cable.

Ah I can help with this.
The story is total, err, testicles. First appeared in the Express. Enough said.

Meanwhile I just potter along quite comfortably, but I do wish they'd be rather more generous with upload, even if that meant reducing download a tad.

Upload and download don't impact each other on cable, so increasing one doesn't mean taking capacity from the other.
As far as higher uploads go you can get 20Mb, with higher to come.
