What type of Coax cable is suitable for use to extend from an access point to external aerials ?.
2.4 and 5GHz .

Just a point which may not be obvious to the inexperienced:=     co ax is very lossy at these frequencies - waveguide is better although mechanically inconvenient.

It's not too bad if you choose the right cable, the stuff we used on 2.4GHz was under 2dB loss for a 20ft cable including it's connectors.   See that Solwise ultra low loss cable for example.
