Title: Sudden 3dB drop in S/N for 10 mins each day
Post by: ardsar on May 05, 2016, 04:20:59 PM
Since the 1st, I have noticed a sudden 3dB approx. drop in downstream S/N margin for roughly 10 mins each day. It has occurred for the last 3 afternoons but at different times.

My stats can be seen under user ardsar.

I've attached plots of the SNR per tone graphs during and after the event.

What could be causing this. Can I assume that this could be the reason why my line has been banded for so long.........

There's no sign that these temporary SNRM drops are leading to large increases in CRCs and errored seconds, and they're not causing resyncs, so I doubt that DLM is even aware of them. They won't be responsible for your continued banding.

The SNRM drops are obviously not desirable, but finding their cause is going to be a bit of a needle in a haystack exercise. Can you possibly relate them to some electrical activity in your home at the same times? Are you on good enough terms with your neighbours to ask them the same question?
