Hello,

At a customer which have a mysterious black switch next to the BT master socket.  Anyone got any ideas what it might be?,  There does seem to be a cable entering the side of the BT box.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Kitz forum.

I can confirm that is a valid telephony circuit switch -- they have been used for many years for a variety of purposes.

Unfortunately I am unable to specify its usage as part of that circuit. It may be possible to say after seeing the wiring behind that NTE5/A plus SSFP combination.

I's a Switch 2A to be precise which is double-pole and locking, but only looking at the wiring will say what for.
Might have been used to turn on/off an outside bell once upon a time, or isolate an extension.....

Or in the case that I had experience thereof, to select which one of two sockets (in separate locations) was connected (as the master) to the circuit.  ;)
