Title: Internet Explorer
Post by: Peter on January 24, 2015, 02:36:39 PM
Afternoon folks,

Is there any good reason why I should not remove Internet Explorer from my PC?

I'm using Chrome as my broser and am quite happy with it, whereas I just had a smal problem caused by an IE Add On.

Regards,

Peter

I dont use IE, but Ive never been tempted to remove it.  Its handy just to have there in case you want to check or test something in a different browser.

Its entirely up to you whether you keep it or not :)

I thought IE was built into the operating system and can't been removed... ???

If it can be removed can doing so cause problems with how Windows works?

I personally haven't used IE in quite a few years, instead I use Chrome,Opera and sometimes Firefox (well you can't beat a bit of variety  ;D )

its in the add remove programs list, but all that does is deletes the shortcuts.

Hi

I believe IE is a basic function and integral to windows due to windows explorer.

It is possible to fully remove IE but your windows would not have correct functions to be a full usable system.

My advice would be not to fully remove IE, just remove shortcuts and set your desired browser to be default.

I hope that helps and sorry if I am wrong

Many thanks

John
