Title: Editing Posts
Post by: UncleUB on March 02, 2013, 02:53:43 PM
I have just noticed there is no longer an option to edit or even delete your posts? All I see is a 'quote' button.

*I can edit this though post though,so is it after a certain timescale that post can't be altered/deleted?*

Yes, there's a time limit of 24 hours for editing posts.

Was there a reason? It's a bit annoying in certain cases.

Yes.

People dont always notice if a post has been edited later.   A fair few forums use the 24hr courtesy edit setting.
If theres anything you need amending then either me or eric will be happy to do so for you. :)

That's nice.  :)  When I edit one of my earlier posts, it is usually just to correct a spelling issue as, for example, 'clipping' an adjacent key in my haste when 'pawing' at the keyboard.

Yes the edit feature certainly does come in very handy and quite often for correcting typos etc that slip through in our haste to post and usually don't really effect the contents of the post.

The thing I don't like about the edit feature is that when it is used it does not alert the members that a post has been edited unlike when replying to a post, which on some forums I find it exasperating because they tell you not to do back-to-back post's, but if you don't then there is no way of members knowing a post has been updated.
