There I was thinking it was another miserable looking day here in Dorset, this story puts things in to perspective :'(

Terrible :(
-
That looks really bad out there. My thoughts are with the people on the islands.
-
Terrible,just terrible :(

My two step grandsons live in Christchurch, New Zealand with their dad - we are waiting for news. :fingers: In the last earthquake they only lost a TV that fell over. Their home is on the southern outskirts and built to earthquake-proof standards, but the boys will have been at school and their dad at work when it hit.
Here's hoping and praying.

My thoughts will be with you and your family , waiting for news in times like this is a nightmare.

Yes a terrible thing and I guess we don't really think about New Zealand as open to earthquakes until of course it happens, like the last one and now this much more devastating one. My thoughts are with you Colin for good news of your family members. Can't imagine what it must be like to go through this, I feel for those involved and the poor victims and their families.

OMG, thats awful news.
My thoughts are with you and your family colin.. and of course anyone else with friends and relations out there.

Good news! Everyone safe and sound, bragging over who did/did not panic when the quake hit.
  :clap2:  :congrats:

Glad everybody is OK Colin.

:clap2: :drink: Great news, you must be extremely relieved.

Great
Regards Jeff

Very pleased for you Colin :)
-
Thank you all - we are very relieved indeed. I will be chatting to them on Skype tonight to hear more. Apparently the worst hit parts are the city centre (all old buildings not built to earthquake-proof standards) and the coastal strip (built on sand and shingle that "liquefies" in a quake).
Once again - thank you.

I am so very pleased to read that your relations have come through this ordeal unscathed. :clap2:

Thanks TD.
