Post by: Floydoid on October 31, 2008, 06:02:49 PM
Is he just cost conscious or a downright scrooge?

Some things I admire him for, a pity there aren't a few more savers in the world, but I bet not a lot of people want to drink with him, it's just crooked to dodge your round, and THIS If we’re having a Sunday roast, I always get Susan to wake up at  three o’clock in the morning to put it in the oven when the price of electricity is lower. She’ll be doing the same on Christmas morning with the turkey.

words just fail me,  :-X but they wouldn't if I was his wife

DUCK YOUR ROUND IN PUB

Never pay for a round at the pub if you don’t have to. When you’re with a crowd of fellas, stand at the back, away from the bar, or nip to the toilet just when people are finishing their drinks. If you manage to avoid paying for any of the first four rounds, they’ll be so sozzled they won’t remember who has paid and who hasn’t.

Now we know who Mr Rust passed this tip onto.
And yes, Joe, we always knew you was tight, but we made it up in other ways (sorry people can't divulge just how)

Hasn't their oven got a timer on it?  The other thing that annoyed me is making her walk to the supermarket when he's got the luxury of the car - all for saving 10p on petrol... I'm surprised he's saved his marriage with that attitude.

I must admit that by the time I got to that bit, I thought "he's just taking the ****"  Surely no self respecting woman would stand for it

We’ve got a huge freezer in the garage which we fill up with cheap food from Iceland.

Has he not taken the air fare into consideration                     ( G R O A N )

OMG

I'm gob smacked at those comments - he makes his wife walk home from the supermarket because her extra weight in the car costs 10p.   I think I'd tell him where to shove his 10p.
Cracked me up that he makes her get up at 3am to cook the sunday dinner because electricity is cheaper at that time.  Well do'h what about putting the lights on at that time, or does she have to do it by candle-light.

The bit about making his daughter wait 20mins whilst screaming in labour is despicable...

and some of the other stuff is just plain meanness.. not someone I'd like to know or befriend.
