Thanks for that, but kitz already has a perfectly good checker on this very site at http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adslchecker.php :)

Kitz's checker actually uses the Samknows database for pulling the information about available broadband services... but adds a couple of nice touches like driving distance to the exchange (which is a slightly better guess of your line length than straight line distance).

Cheers for the heads up, if you didn't know about Kitz's checker. Have a read round the rest of the site if you haven't looked much, there's a wealth of info if you're in a learning mood :)

Yeah their prices are hard to beat...  in fact "a loss leader"..  which is why the other ISPs cant do it for that.

Good luck with your migration and let us know how it goes :)

PS - hope you dont mind me laughing...  but I notice the . for line breaks.
You've been indoctrinated into the "CA way" where FF users have to use the "."'s   ;D
This forum should display line breaks correctly without having to use the full stops - may save you a bit of time when typing :)

Hmm - not sure... thing with KC - presumably you know where your phone exchange is.. if it's under the KC umbrella, then forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think all you can get is Karoo, Karoo, or, er.. Karoo :(

hello there

i got sky turned on Friday  the setup went well

had to change the router network key  ( sky network key not very safe)

main email setup with outlook express no problem..extra email will not work with outlook express
keeps asking for password ..did all the things with email setup(  and did the sky unlock still no luck)

they work fine as web mail  ;D

the only thing is a bit odd is the network lights on the router are orange not green..but it works so not to bothered..
.
only thing with the router that was no so good was the network cable 3 foot (wast of time )
.
well off to download the internet now i have a bit more speed  :D :D

Glad it all went well for you CK - thanks for letting us know.

>> extra email will not work with outlook express

Funny you should mention that - I had a strange "quirk" in outlook when I set up someones account for them with sky.
Webmail worked fine...  but in OE the mail would not automatically send.. and you had to "send twice" before it eventually went.
