Hi guys, question for you XP users,my next door neighbour has a problem with his photo's.When he clicks on the 'my photo's' icon it takes him to his photo's but he has lost the panel which allows you to edit etc his photo's.He thinks he might have deleted it some how?Any ideas what to do.BTW he's 85 :)
Edit, I think it must be the 'picture tasks' pane on the left of the screen he is talking about

First thing to try is the easy option
In windows explorer, or in My Pictures, go tools>folder options>general>tasks and make sure that the tick mark is in "show common tasks in folders" and not in "classic view"
If it is in classic view, swop to the other then click apply..........windows will take a few seconds to effect the change.
If that does not cure the prob., I don't know.

when in 'my photos', click the 'folders' button on the toolbar??

Paul,
That brings up the full folders index but not the Task options which is what TD's solution does.

pwiggler, if the task panes are working properly, clicking on the "folders" icon on the tool bar will toggle between the task view and the folder view.
But, if in classic mode, there will be no task panes to toggle.
