How to get your line stats (http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.php)
The infamous frogstats page has had a major overhaul and has now gone dynamic, as a result it has to have a slightly new url
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.php
The page was getting quite difficult to manage and the previous javascript layout was a bit of a nightmare whenever a new router was added to the page. (Despite it being easy to copy), since it was only originally designed many years ago with only a couple of routers in mind.
Ive therefore put all the details into a database with its own control panel which should in future make page management for me a hell of a lot easier. It also has the scope built in for future management by anyone I wish to give authority to.
Its taken several days to put all the info in the database, so if theres any obvious errors I do appreciate them being brought to my attention, since I was going a bit blind and oblivious to typos by the time I'd finished. :D
Any reference to the old page url will automatically be forwarded by the server to the new page.

That looks a lot better. :)

Indeed it does.

Kitz,
The Sagem F@st screenshots don't work :-\ They give a 404 error ???
-
ooh - good spot.
I totally forgot about the screencaps for the sub instructions on there
Thanks for pointing it out :)

I have a D-Link 2640B router and can confirm that the procedure for obtaining the line stats is the same as for the 2740B, if you want to reflect this on the frogstats page.

Hi and welcome ajcham.
Thanks for that info - added :)

There's an error on that page relating to Draytek routers.
The default management IP address for the Draytek 2600 and 2800 series routers is http://192.168.1.1 and not http://192.168.0.1 as documented.
See here (http://www.draytek.co.uk/), FAQ No. 5

Hi
That's GOOD .
A word of caution to users of DR Speedtouch it seems that most times the "diagnostics" do not work with the st330 ,it checks "connection " and "speedtouch " OK but reports a problem with "internet" and the "troubleshoot" normally is no help. However the stats still print OK even when no PPP session is running .
The copy that I had from Tiscali was OK no 4Mbps limit !.
It did not work properly with Vista there is a Vista version.

Hi paulby and welcome to the forums :)
Thanks for that info... not sure if that was an error on the part of the other admin who had a draytech, or whether it was a C+P error on my part when I moved the info over to the dynamic system. :-[
Thank you for taking the time to point it out - now amended :)

Thanks jeff - I know the error that you mean - Ive seen it myself in the past, and youre quite right that a note to mention it would be in order - done.

Also updated - that bit was orginally put in there 2.5 years ago, so hopefully most should now be ok - also amended
Thanks

OK, here's a tricky one. The "new" BT Homehub version 2 - it's the curvy black one with blue lights.
Was helping someone set one up today and it seemed a bit slow (dodgy extension wiring much in evidence).
So I thought I'd advise them on actual vs potential speeds. No chance, apart from speed test sites.
BT seem to have TOTALLY hidden the stats; well I couldn't find them. ;)
Got in OK on 192.168.1.254 and changed the default password - they script this anyway so you really have to.
But once in there, even exploring "advanced" options there's just no sync speed/margin data at all!
Anyone "cracked" this one yet?

Not sure - i'll do some digging later... but since afaik its still based on the thomson kit, then something like
Advanced Settings >
Broadband Connection >
DSL Connection >
Then hidden at the top a link something like "Details" or "More Details"
or... if theyve hidden that perhaps try a direct link which may work
http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/dsl/dt/?ce=1&be=0&l0=1&l1=0
http://192.168.1.254/cgi/bb_dsl.lp?be=1&l0=2&l1=2&l2=1

HP - just thought when reading a post in another thread (http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php?topic=3717.msg89967#msg89967).
They must be there somewhere since glen has a HH2. - its the one that has the bug with the CRC reporting.
-
Thanks for the advice. I'm going back to look at it again tomorrow afternoon.... ;)
First thing I'll do is a BT Speed Test of course.

Spot on, thanks. With a few "are you sure's" thrown in for good measure. ;)
I must have been blind the first time :-[

Glad you found it :)
