Article in PC Pro magazine issue November (!!) 2008 with a link to the site of a Sam Crawford at http://www.samknows.com/broadband/news/now-available-our-first-performance-monitoring-report-417.html where you can download a 42 page report in PDF of Mr. Crawford's researches into all things broadband, especially into how and why ISPs manipulate performance figures ( or tell lies, as one would say.)

I don't think they're related :) but Sam's site is well respected, and Kitz' exchange and line checker (http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adslchecker.php) uses some information from Sam's database (with his full permission of course). It will be interesting to read his report.

No we're not related, but do have a mutual respect for each other.
SamKnows has been going for a long time and he originally built an application back in the early days of adsl which monitored which exchanges were going live and has since built up on that.
His site is an excellent resource, so well done Sam :)
