This was on my ISP's web site.....

New BT Cancellation Charge

If you move your broadband service, we recommend using a Migration Authorisation Code [MAC], rather than simply cancelling your service. If you fully cancel your service, from May 1st 2007 you will incur a BT cancellation fee of £39.66 inc VAT. This fee is waived if you use a MAC.

Yep..  not good news for anyone needing a cease such as a house move.

Means that BT now impose a fee for disconnecting your adsl. :no:

So now when you move you have to pay a cease fee on your old property..  and a new connection fee on your new property.

Hmmm, If you ring BT (retail) and ge them to change the billing details for your phoneline (i.e. the name of who "owns" the line) this usually places a PSTN cease automatically, wonder if you still get charged for that.....

Hmm, the fee I can understand, brings in some extra pennies but it should be the ISP who should foot the bill, customer service and all that.
