I have recently had a BT vDSL faceplate fitted by an engineer, because he said that was what they were fitting now, even for ADSL connections.
I have a version with "LPT Technology" on the back and the BT Openreach Logo on the front, in white (matching the colour of the faceplate), rather than being printed on in black.
My question is, are there different versions? Is this version newer?
Thank you.

Not sure how many versions there are, but for clarification purposes, whereas in times gone by there were 2 products in use (NTE2000 and VDSL plate), there is now just the one stocked item. This being the VDSL plate.

Thank you Black Sheep. Out of curiosity, did the last vDSL faceplate you fit have the logo printed or embossed (e.g. the same colour as the faceplate)?
-
The latest versions are printed, sir.

Why thank you! You don't need to call me sir though! I bet you are more deserving of that role than me!

I doubt it, but thanks. :-[ ;D

I fitted one of these new "interstitial" faceplates recently (as noted in other threads) and am well impressed, it's a really clever design. :graduate:
The logo etc. is printed on mine, in a darkish grey.

Where did you obtain it, if you don't mind divulging? I might pick one up, just to see if there is any difference to the 'embossed' version.

eBay. Seller isn't listing any now, but there are many others.

I shall be happy to be corrected if I am wrong but my understanding is that a number of manufacturers will make any one product for Openreach -- something to do with not showing favouritism and not being dependant on only one supplier.
One of the suppliers to Openreach is Pressac, another is LPT Technology, another is . . .
I've just picked up a sealed package from within my grotto. The label attached to the front reads --
Item Code: 049579
Desc: VDSL Face Plate to Assist NTE4
Qty: 1
UOI: EACH
Contract: B8003750
Date of Manuf: 02/12
The filter contained therein is marked on the front (moulded lettering) --
Openreach
a BT Group Business BT
and on the rear (printed) --
LPT Technology
I would not be surprised to discover that those with a printed logo, etc, on the front are made by one of the other manufacturers and not LPT Technology.
The circuitry, components used, etc, will be identical. I suspect there with be a SIN in which the device is described.

We had the nte 2000 before the vdsl faceplate or known as the 'SSFP' . So far I am aware of 2 different versions of the vdsl faceplate, both being equal with no known issues with either.

I have both NTE2000 (Pressac) and SSFP (pressac) and both perform the same.
