Why indeed. No doubt it will appeal to some people, but I won't be queueing up to buy one.

I'd prefer my fridge to be cool and aloof.

I think your missing the big picture.

IPv6 means everything and one will have an IP address. The supermarkets already know who you are and what your weekly shop is so, if your fridge and other food storage is "intelligent" you will be able to download an app which will save you from ever running out of food stuff again.

These devices will just order it for you!  :P

That corny old idea has been around for at least 20 years, and it doesn't sound any more sensible to me now than it did then. No doubt the intelligent fridge and the software to support it can easily be produced, but there remains the practical question of how these replacement items of food are going to be delivered. There's no technology in sight at present which will make it economic to deliver single items of food on demand.

So an order for 16 toilet rolls becomes one for 55 bottles of tomato sauce? ;D

I can get the same result my self without any help. Thank you. >:D ::)

Nope. Cause the supermarket knows you never order 55 bottles of TK. BUT they do know you order 16 toilet rolls; especially if you order their curry!  :'(
