The number of Internet users who download pirated content from the Internet, reaching 432 million worldwide, according to a survey of NetNames, conducted in January 2013 Pirates in Europe, Asia and the Americas account for 327 million, ie one in four Internet users in these regions appears contrary

In 2012, traffic from these resources was 338 petabytes per month, which is 57% less compared to 2010 and decreased the number of users who distribute and download pirated material from the site file-sharing. The decline of 8% from November 2011 to January 2013 is explained by the closure of the largest such resource - Megaupload. Meanwhile, users of BitTorrent and streaming sites have grown in a year and a half by 27 and 22 percent.
