Router is Restarting Now. Please wait ......
After ignoring firmwares for a long time I updated my firmware in my VMG8924-B10A routers from v14 firmware to v28 without issue a week ago and everything working OK I didn't really bother checking anything.
Yesterday decided to try the 'Johnson' firmware which seems like a very cool development, when I go to the Maintenance-Firmware Update menu item on both my routers I see this :
As I mentioned they both continue to work fine, I just can't do any firmware updates. Is there an easy fix for this?
Apologies if there is a post covering this elsewhere, I did search

Decide upon which VMG8924-B10A you can take out of service and then try the following --
- Power off the device.
- Disconnect all cables (except that from the PSU).
- Insert your favourite opened up paper-clip (or a meter probe) into the hole to operate the "reset" button. Continue to hold the button depressed.
- Power on the device and continue to hold the reset button depressed.
- Wait until all changes in the LEDs status have stopped. Release the "reset" button.
- Wait, say, five minutes.
- Power off the device and wait, say, five minutes.
- Power on the device, connect it to a computer and re-configure it.
- Re-connect it to your router.
Assuming all is now good, repeat the above process with the second VMG8924-B10A.

Thanks I'll give it a go!

Worked perfectly for both, thank you!
For anyone trying this, you have to hold the reset button in for a surprisingly long time before you see the LED colour changes stop .....
Both now running Johnson firmware, nice ...
Thanks again @burakkucat

Thanks again @burakkucat
You are welcome. :)
The technique is what I call a "long hard reset". If it fails, the next step would be to open up the device and connect to the serial console . . .
