Reading about other Kitizens exploits with Zyxel VMG3925s I thought 'I need one of those to play with'.
As I didn't want to pay a lot I started searching my favourite auction site but the lowest price I could find was £75 - far too much for tight-fisted me!
Not wishing to give up I continued my search, and after some time (probably weeks :-[) I found a brand new Post Office branded version for £10.99 plus postage - grand total of £14.90. ;D
It was on Buy-it-Now or best offer, but I didn't feel cheeky enough to make an offer at that price (and certainly didn't want anyone else snapping it up in the meantime), so it was duly purchased.
A few days later it arrived and it was indeed a brand-new, shrink wrapped, VMG3925-B10B with Post Office branding as described.:thumbs:
Like a little child I excitedly connected it up and configured it for my BT circuit - all initially seemed well.
After about half-an-hour I noticed that the 5GHz SSID had disappeared. :hmm:
Further checks showed that it was coming and going (mostly going) despite showing as being 'on' in the GUI. :(
'What bad luck' (or other unpublishable words to that effect) I thought.
I next upgraded the firmware to the latest version, but it was still no good. :no:
Then I thought that, being new, perhaps Zyxel would help me. :fingers:
A support ticket was raised and, all credit to Zyxel, they responded very quickly, but alas it was not to be - apparantly the Post Office branded versions were supplied through Fujitsu and Zyxel could not cover it. :(
So with heavy heart it has gone back to the seller and I await my refund. :bye:
Why do I have such bad luck. :sob:

Your tale is duly noted as I have just bought a 1½-month-old VMG3925-B10B and await its delivery. I don't think it is Post Office branded but will have to ask.

The Post Office branded ones are easy to spot if you have a photo of it as they have a big red logo on the front and also don't come in a Zyxel branded box.
I was just unlucky to get one that was DOA - it happens, but why me? :(

Looks like a retail one as far as I can tell but it's from Hull so could be Kcom. No reply yet.

I can't get to ebay right now, but a Post Office one will look like this.

Cheers for that. Seller has replied it was a Kcom unit but no username/password and has been factory reset. Trying to see if the firmware has been upgraded.

My second unit was an ex-KCom and I had no problems with it. I did a full reset via the pin on the back and power cycled it and it all came up OK with admin 1234 etc. Once the supervisor p/w was obtained I got it all setup OK.

my 3925 came with what sounds like a loose screw inside the unit, but seems functionally fine, although bear in mind I have not tested the wifi, but did test all the ethernet ports.
Only been actually used in bridge mode tho but doing its job so far.

I plan to use in bridge mode, is it similar to 1312 to set up? I think I read in another thread there is no power management menu, is this correct?

its pretty much the same process as any other modern zyxel to setup bridge mode.
So disable DHCP server on both subnets.
Disable wifi
Isolate a port on the interface grouping to be used for the bridge.
Configure VDSL WAN setting for bridged mode.
Check and configure the bridge ip in home network settings.
