Title: VMG8924-B10a logs
Post by: lloyd on January 01, 2017, 10:56:40 AM
Recently started using a VMG8924-B10a, but can't get anything to appear in the logs on the device (not gone down the syslog route).  Does anyone have this working (v15 firmware)?  Is there an option on the gui I've missed, or a way of checking via cli? I have everything ticked in the 'Active Log and Alert' section of 'Log Settings'.

Thanks

These are the settings I use to enable logging with V15 firmware.

In Maintenance > Log Settings
System Logging:  Enable
Mode: Local File
Under "Active Log and Alerts" tick the items you wish to log.

Ah I see.  They are not using the usual definition of syslog.  Sorted thanks.

You are not the first person to be caught out by that.  ;)
