Almost a whole month after the new line installation, the DLM has finally enabled G.INP on my line. :yay:
My downstream started off at 79987 Kbps after installation before dropping to 78045 at its lowest. Switching the filter to an old ADSL Nation XF-1e yesterday that I had shoved in a drawer somewhere perked it up to 78364 Kbps while still at the target 6 dB.
Here we are, 24 hours later, with G.INP enabled and the sync speed at the full 79999 Kbps on the downstream. Maybe the XF-1e was just about dodgy enough to prompt the DLM to make this change. :hmm: But it was a good filter on ADSL, and the error rate was pretty much identical to the other filter I had (perhaps a few less errors on the upstream :)).
I can't say this is too bad for an aluminium-copper hybrid line, even if the estimated length (quoted from an engineer) is under 200m. ;)

Now that's a nice bit of headroom, couldn't you agree? :) My name is "jdsl" on MDWS.

Congratulations, DLM finally got there as it usually does. (Provided you are on a Huawei / not ECI DSLAM, yet !)
4 weeks waiting time for G.Inp is not the longest recorded by any means, my line took close to 8 weeks post ADSL/VDSL migration with Plusnet, some forum members experiences were longer than that.
As you have very little pre G.Inp data on MDWS it's hard to judge the before & after effects on your line.
Can tell that your DS retx profile is currently "low" which is good, higher DS data throughput ratio, however, that could change depending on line performance with DS G.Inp now active.
Keep the router stat's uploading to MDWS 24/7 if possible.
Edit: Added comment on Huawei/ECI cabinets.

Yawn!
I thought we had the first ECI member of the G.INP club from the thread title ::)

Same here, haha.

Oh dear. What have I done? Can I taste the tears of ECI cab users who are reading this topic? :P I am part of the superior Huawei master race. ;D
Sorry to get your hopes up! But at least you have another figure on when it comes to the approx. time for G.INP (provided the cabinet has it enabled). :)

almost 3 months into a new line for me and still no G.INP :(
-
D'oh! I just realised that the subject should say G.INP finally activated, not enabled. Perhaps this would have caused less confussion.

Unfortunately the VM running DSLStats had a kernel panic or maybe the host crashed (one or the other). So in any case, logging can sometimes be interrupted when there is a crticial issue or carrying out maintenance. :(

I don't know if that would be considered a long time or not. :( I do not even know what the exact requirements are for G.INP to become activated.

With a paw push on the appropriate button b*cat adjusts the subject line of this thread. :D

To qualify for the Superior Huawei Master Race you need to have Vectoring enabled, otherwise you have to remove the Superior part :P
As for me, I won't be on ECI much longer - VM have recently laid some nice fibre optic cables outside my house ;D

Moderator abuse of my purrfect thread!

Vectoring state: 5
What did we learn about the difference between enabled and activated? :P Because surely technically 5 means it is "enabled" but is not activated/configured? So I will not entertain removing the "superior" part until I am proven wrong. ;) Hehe.

I thought I could taste the salty tears of an ECI cabinet user, but I guess it's my own since you are getting full fibre. Though I did actually consider FTTPoD personally seeing as it is available in this area, but it is still far too expensive even with the new pricing. :(

Salty tears indeed :'(, so much so I'm moving to the dark side. Although I could 'switch' to the Huawei twin they installed last year, but I think I'll take my chances with VM and see how that goes ;D
I think you will be removing that "superior" though

So it's just a plain old vanilla Huawei master race user :P

Hi Ronski,
You can enjoy the fault prone WM modem/Router!
-
Fortunately no one in the house games, and I'll be using it in modem mode so hopefully it shouldn't cause me any issues :fingers:

Quite a thread for a 1.5% speed increase. If I create a thread in here other than for news events it'll be rather less positive and putting the boot into an ISP.

Fortunately we are all different . . . which makes "things" more interesting.
