Hi kitizens!
Got so much help and advice over the last year from this community, so thank you all!
Looking for some advice on my fttc -
Devices:
Plusnet Hub One - 76.3/20 (DS SNR = 6.0)
MG1312-B10A - 75/20 (DS SNR = 6.3)
HG612 - 74/20 (DS SNR = 6.3)
Connection methods:
1) Test socket > microfilter > device
2) MK3 faceplate > device
MK3 faceplate used to sync 2mbps lower (DS) than micofilter to the test socket but now the speeds are negligible (US SNR is lower with the MK3 but the DS is pretty much the same)
Modem Cable:
Cat5e (20cm length)
CW1308 (20cm length)
No difference
Misc:
Cabinet: ECI :'(
DLM: No action (since ISP switch)
Telephone: Not in use (only for fttc)
Current config:
MK3 + cat5e + VMG1312-B10A (.14 firmware from Jan 18) + Hub One (for PPP)

Not sure why but the Hub One (lantiq) SNR is always 6.0, whereas, the Broadcom chipsets SNR is always 6.3 so the speed seems slightly lower... is this a design limitation?
Maybe my line just hates broadcom chipsets?

Welcome to the Kitz forum . . . as an active member. :)
I've looked through the information that you have provided and can see nothing obvious.
There is one thing to remember and that is not to regard the reported value of the SNR from any one device as an absolute, correct, value which can then be compared with that obtained from a second device. Only trust the differences in successive values, the delta, for any one device.
Every circuit is different and, yes, there are those connected to an ECI M41 DSLAM who do find that a CPE with a Lantiq chipset marginally better than CPEs with a Broadcom chipset.

I find my VMG-1312-B10A when the SNRM was set at 6db by DLM was 6.3db and this was fairly repeatable so looks like a chipset limitation as you are seeing similar.

Thanks for the replies!
I guessed it was probably a chipset limitation and my ES rate on US seems to have gone crazy today.
Maybe I'll just have to accept a HH5a connection as the fastest and non-erroring (as there's been no DLM and accept that the stats are unavailable unless I can find an unlocked ECI modem).

Plusnet HH5 back...
Microfilter:
6. Data rate: 20000 / 76308
7. Maximum data rate: 24104 / 76527
8. Noise margin: 6.8 / 6.1
9. Line attenuation: 11.6 / 12.0
10. Signal attenuation: 11.5 / 12.0
MK3:
6. Data rate: 20000 / 76135
7. Maximum data rate: 24426 / 76228
8. Noise margin: 6.8 / 6.0
9. Line attenuation: 11.7 / 12.1
10. Signal attenuation: 11.6 / 12.1
Going to leave the MK3 in-place as the 200kbps is worth losing for the filtering and accept I can't hit the magic 79999
End of the copper line + an eci cab == bad times (but lucky still to get 76mbps) :D
Maybe eci will get 3db lines one day #dreaming

Thank you for posting the recent update.
Please try not to swap devices too often . . . as that will be a sure way of attracting the attention of the DLM process.

I wouldn't say, just because the DLM has not taken action yet, that the PN Hub One is more stable than its Broadcom counterparts. For some people, the Lantiq-based Hub One may be stable, but for myself I found it created more issues and severely impacted the DLM parameters on the other line to the point where the speed had dropped by around 15+ Mbps. In the evenings the SNRM would just drop into the minus figures to the point where it would just lose throughput and disconnect. I am not convinced that it can be corrected by a firmware upgrade and I had two units so it would be unlikely to be a fault.
I would probably perfer using the HG612 as the modem and the VMG1312-B10A as the router as opposed to using the Hub One at all since you get more control (at most, I may use it purely as a WiFi AP if it allows); you are able to customise DNS, monitor stats in-depth on the HG612 and, from what I can see, the VMG1312-B10A has QoS (Quality of Service) which I would configure to reduce bufferbloat (I do not know how advanced the settings are on this router, which I should note because I do not know much about it).
