I attempted to repair a defunct iPod touch last week. Before doing so, I spent a long time researching other people's tales of success and failure in dismantling and fixing these devices, and came across one individual who cautioned there was a risk of 'fixing it beyond repair'. :D
That's a new one on me, but I rather like it.
For the record, I succeeded in dismantling the iPod without further damage, but the new digitiser (£10) has failed to make it work again. No matter, I didn't feel inclined to pay somewhere between £80 and £140 to exchange an iPod that was already 4 years old. :(

A more genteel version of FUBAR - I'm sure I don't need to spell it out... ;D
