Title: tamper protection
Post by: grumpy old man on November 02, 2019, 04:58:02 PM
As a result of an article in CA about tamper protection in W10 I looked at this setting on my PC.

On typing tamper protection into search I get the following message:  'Page not available.  Your IT administrator has limited access to some areas of this app, and the item you tried to access is not available.  Contact IT helpdesk for more information.'  This is not an office pc so no IT administrator or help desk.  How do I get round this.  I am running W10 pro.

On a similar matter under Device Security I have the following message:  'Standard hardware security not supported'.  Looking this up on MS website the following explanation is given: 'This means that your device does not meet at least one of the requirements of standard hardware security.'  Should I be concerned about this?

Hi Gom, what AV are you using? , as it works ok on my Win 10 pro. I use Windows 10 defender A/V.

I use Avast.

I have subsequently found tamper protection which I turned on, although having done this it has disappeared from windows security.

it is on for me
i have no idea about it but for device security you need to turn on settings in BIOS like UEFI only, secure boot, and virtualization etc
