Im really shocked because for some reason i get 5 MB more download using the HG612 then i do on the Zyxel lol (same upstream though :'(). I assumed the Zyxel was newer and it would normally be the other way round but apparently not. Also my speeds even worse using an ECI modem (ECI cabinet) then on the hg612 or zyxel lol. My connection is weird ...

I get the same and find the HG612 slightly more stable. Just goes to show it's horses for courses and trial and error is the only way to be sure you are getting the best from your line.

My ZyXel gives me about 7 Mbps download more than the HG612, but 2Mbps lower upload, can't remember how the ECI performs, but I think it was worse than the hg612.

My HG612 provides the best DL speed - a good 2mbs better than HH5, and ECI modem and a billion 8800NL.

Yeh the ECI was the worst for me weirdly enough :S

Of the routers I've tried on my line I get the best speeds (up and down) with either the VMG8924-B10A or a HG635 (the original TalkTalk Super Router).
The Homehub 5B loses me a couple of Mbs download, with the HG612 losing a little bit more than that.
I've also tried a Technicolor TG589VAC which equalled the VMG8924 for speed but wanted to re-sync every day or so, so I got rid of it.
It really seems to be the case of finding what your particular line likes the best.
