A heads up that server maintenance will be performed tonight at 11pm tonight so the site could experience some down time of around 20 mins.

lol with spending so much time out of doors and nothing much else,  I think Ive totally lost track of the days/weeks  ???

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly does one do when maintaining a server ?? Is it clearing out memory or something ??

The term can cover various things either hardware or software related such as installing more memory or more disk space, or adding new software or facilities or even upgrading security features.

Just think of it like doing something on a very powerful PC.  Servers are online 24/7, but occasionally they have to be shut-down so that something can be upgraded.

No, it was only server maintenance, so no forum features changed.

The server upgrade was started a bit later (just before midnight) but was completed in about 15 mins.
There was a forum upgrade that I did yesterday during the day, but again that was nothing exciting and just to update the software.. but no new features that the members will notice.

I do perhaps have something in the pipeline as regards to the forums, but it may be a little while before you see that.

Noticed the forum has been sluggish to load pages this morning,both in Firefox and Chrome.And a few minutes ago it was reported that the site was down
