I have found that the ability to increase the font size is a great boon to reading via the Kindle - that facility alone has made it all worthwhile for me.  If you're going to read lots of books at once scottiesmum then at least Kindle will keep track of of where you are up to in each one! Enjoy!  :)

Hello Jazz,   I've been fiddling  :D  experimenting with all the clever things the Kindle does.   I'm only reading one book at a time (I get characters/people  mixed up otherwise ::)   )  but the bookmark is very useful.  I found last night, after I'd been reading for a couple of hours, I increased the normal print up one size, because my eyes were tired; I'd normally stop reading, but that was a bonus  ;D

The book I'm presently reading is a free one from Amazon,  Monday Night Jihad by Jason Elam and Steve Yohn   and it is  very good.  Starts in Iraq and moves to USA  ...... and apparently I'm 25% into the book  ;D   So I'd recommend that.

Well I've discovered I'm well and truly Kindled  .....  I started to read a 'real' book yesterday, one I've had for a while now and kept thinking, 'I must start reading some of those on the shelves'  ....  this is a huge paper back, one of those large sizes and weighs a ton    (well I might be exaggerating very slightly there  ;D )   Anyway after reading for about half an hour last night, couldn't get comfortable in any chair, couch etc .... wrists were aching, Scotty was fed up with the pile of cushions I had placed under the book for support, he couldn't get comfy  ;D hubby just kept looking at me and  ::)  .............so about 10 minutes ago I had it downloaded to the KIndle  .....  I shall give the  HEAVY copy to some unsuspecting visitor from the UK  :D      I know I'm naughty Unc     but I'll knock it off the next handbag   (I must point out this is an exception as all my other awaiting 'hard copies' are normal size )

I have to agree, Kate. I've still got an emotional attachment to real books, but the Kindle is so much lighter and more convenient in nearly every way. The exceptions are books with pictures or diagrams to be referred to in the course of reading - the Kindle doesn't really have a way of dealing with these.
