Father's Day
« on: June 19, 2011, 08:53:21 AM »

It must be Father's Day again - I just increased my collection by two more ties.  I wouldn't care, but I never wear one nowadays (retired) except a black one for solemn occasions.  Anybody get anything today?

Oh yes, I got two cards too.  My "kids" are 40 and 37 respectively and have systematically added to my tie collection over the years.  It has become something of a joke/ceremony, but they are always accompanied by another gift - Bassets Liquorice Allsorts - the biggest bags you ever did see.  Last me months as I go at them slowly.

Should we write Father's day, or should we write Fathers' day.

I got 2..........one from Matthew in HongKong and one from my stepson(Chris) who lives in Lincoln.  :)

The card from Lincoln contained some 'medicine' money  ;)

Matthews busy at present, they are having to move from their current apartment as the lady who owns it isn't renewing their lease, she has decided to sell due to the current boom in property prices.

They move tomorrow into another apartment which is a little further out,but a nicer area...Its on the 65th  :o floor of a 70 floor block.

I think I will try the Cider now. :drink:

From daughter (38), who lives close a card, bottle of strong beer, and 4% alcolholic ginger beer From son (40) a card. Did not expect anything from eldest daugher (42) as she is living temorarily in Kenya's Rift Valley.

As usual the cards were witty.

A bag of Edinburgh Rock and a card, plus most excellent dinner - Moroccan Lamb + Couscous followed by Raspberries in Meringue Nests + Cream.
Bust my 2000 cals/day allowance - but not by much!
Cheers,
Peter
