To be honest I don't like the pastry around the pie featured in the advert.

Is that just that particular pie you have taken a dislike to,or don't you like pork pies in general  ???

Stilton with port poured in it - a TERRIBLE combination, it ruins it!

Totally agree,I can't think doing that adds anything to the cheese

Oh most definitely just that particular pie. I love a good growler, tasty pastry that stays with the meat when you bite into it.

I have always found small independent pork butchers make the best pork pies, sadly these are dying out now.  :(

Mmmm all this talk of food.....(though I don't quite like the "way out" concoctions)...just wish I could have half of it... :(  I now cannot eat anything with wheat, rye and barley in (so no bitter beer or bread for me...sigh), so that's my lot with food as such especially as I used to love baking but now it's not worth it..sob.  Love(d) pork pies btw but not the melton mowbray ones as they seem very peppery to me, I used to make my own years ago and they were nice.  Don't think I have many strange food combinations so can't give you any to think about, though I used to love winkles (ahem)....but wouldn't try snails....can't think why unless it's because they are larger  ???  Perhaps it's me who's weird, not the food  ;D
