That's what happened to the "own goal" for Hingerland methinks    Mind you, I don't know how they put up with that awful noise, think lots will come away from the games deeef for a while, silly bees.....

Totally agree - I started to watch a match at the weekend but the drone of bees did my head in and I eventually didnt bother.

I know I could turn the sound down..  but if I am going to watch - then I like to hear the commentary.   I tried a couple of different channels, and the Beeb even offered different commentaries..  but the constant drone did my head in and in the end I had to turn it off completely.

AIUI, the pitch is more or less B-flat - it surely can't be beyond the wit of the broadcasters to insert a notch filter in the audio chain? In order not to seriously degrade the audio quality of the commentary, it would have to be less than perfect, but I'd have thought a reduction of at least 20dB could be easily achieved.
