I've a big garden, out in the sticks, so stocking up future mole-defences would be a good strategy even if it doesn't help with current mole.  I'd heard of the castor oil, as well as other liquid remedies that require a dog (think about it).  I haven't got a dog, so I'll think about the castor oil.  TBH tho', the thing is, I'd not be sure about pouring castor oil near the roots of a young tree?

Isn't the pool of knowledge on kitz's forum wonderful?  Who needs the rest of the internet !?

Don't just pour castor oil over the ground - especially not over the roots of a other plants.  It would be better to make a hole into the mole run and pour a little oil down.  It would be better to do this in a few places on the mole run to make the whole thing generally unpleasant for those trying to run around and work in it rather than drenching just one spot.

You might get castors growing all over, then the moles will be on skateboards before you know it.
