hi all
does it matter which file format you use when re-formatting a pen drive
i have a 8gig pen which needs formatting any advice would be appreciated

Hi r2d2,
I think you have already realised that the file format for any drive does matter and that the answer depends upon what you're trying to do with the drive or memory stick.

No it does not really matter which format you use, unless you intend to store files larger than 4GB, then it would need to be formatted as NTFS.
For general use FAT32 is god enough.

If you get formating problems I have found swissknife normally fixes them, but I have not used it on a pen drive before.
