Avira NOT updating :(

 Hi
Windows just reported that AVIRA was out of date . Last update 28/09/09

Just tried to get update nothing happened . On Avira site some complaints about the updates Not working.
Any one else had Problem?

Jeff,    I had problems with Avira updating a few weeks ago; it appeared that the update location was extremely busy, and I was  continuously told to try later.   I appear to have solved the problem by setting my updates for 11 pm in the evenings, and  :fingers: since doing this it updates regularly without any hitch.   hth   ... :)     Kate

Thanks for the reply .I have set mine at similar time  :fingers:
Have you registered your copy . On the avira link there seems to be some link between registration and the present update problem .

No Jeff, I haven't registered   ....  Hope yours is sorted with the change of update time.   I've just checked on mine and it's updated fine automatically.  :) Kate

It's also possible to do a manual update - you just need to download the IVDF file and select Update - manual from the menu.

Yes but not practical to do every day ,its been going on for over a week now. Very little help from Avira forum,lots of complaints ,some disgruntled users are dumping AVIRA .

I had to do a manual update on Thursday because of the issues but the auto has been working fine since.

Looks like they might need to upgrade the servers if they are struggling to cope.
