I haven't investigated that feature.
I do know that it asks for a password if you want to change parameters.
You'll get all sorts of opinions on routers here.
Some work better on some lines than others but there's no set rule as far as I'm aware.

The Netgear DG834 etc. is very popular as well especially if you want to use diagnostic tools.
I have had difficulties with Solwise SAR-600ER modems as they don't fully support a firmware upgrade for the TI AR7 bug and have managed to brick a couple of them.
