Transferring Data Xbox 360

(1/1)

DeeeeeJ:
Hey guys, don't know if this is the right area but here goes.

Basically i've got an old Xbox 360, the first one without even HDMI cable slot.  I've just seen that i can trade my old one in and get £75 and buy a pre owned elite for £100, meaning it's only going to cost £25 so worth it.

Anyway, how do you go about transferring the data from one to the other.  I don't want to lose my save game data.  Obviously i'm not going to have both xboxes at once because one will be traded in.

Is there a way to do it other than the data transfer cable on microsofts website.  Would it work with a USB?  If i plugged the USB into my xbox and copied the save game files onto that, got my new one then transferred everything back on to the new one? Any other ideas?

Cheers guys.

Not really knowing anything about X-Boxes,I would have thought if it/they have usb ports, then a flash memory stick could do the job.

Same, although i've just tried a USB stick and it isn't showing anything / picking anything up on the xbox.   >:(

I believe you can attach a HDD to the top and transfer everything over.

Don't know where to get one and how it works though?

Sorry I can't be of any more help :(
