New Megane?
« on: February 07, 2009, 10:03:18 PM »

Hi all,

My dad is considering buying a new Megane, and I was wondering if any of the kitizens have one and if so what is their opinion of it?

He is going for a test drive in one Monday but was wondering of any long term complaints etc.

Any comments are most appreciated :)

Cheers

well I haven't owned a car "yet" but from what I've been seeing renault have a bit of work to do on the reliability front but overall their cars are good. As for the new megane as you may have heard renault of late have been putting in extra hours in the factory and this new model looks quite impressive  :)

Hi Jamie,

Tbh,all new cars today are very reliable,I know you get some bad ones but that is the same for any consumer goods. All new cars come with a very good anti corrosion warranty.
The only downside with Renault's is they don't hold their value very good.Saying that most cars don't unless you are moving up into the BMW/Mercedes/Audi type market.
If your dad likes what he see's and is impressed with the test drive......go for it.IMO.  :)

He had a test drive today, and he drove to the end of the road and back and went for it!

He was shocked that for the 1.5dCI the tax is £35 a year!! ;D

You cannot tell much about the car going to the end of the road and back, 5 to 10 mile yes.

My dad has always had a car every three years and has had a megane before, plus, it was a very long road :)
