Hello all,
A bit overcast in South Derbyshire  but dry, so I will try another very short walk, Only did 1 mile yesterday but was Kn worn out when I got back.
@   ub           "Even after 3 weeks I still have a bit of a cough, still not 100% "    I'm just the same, the main flu has gone but it's on my chest
and not felt like doing any gardening or my building projects.
@    tuftedduck              "Only got 23, 752 pictures to print."  Have you any programs that loads all these each time you boot up, If so you could be filling temp or Ram up and your computer has no extra to do the shut down sequence.
May be you could start a new post on it in say 'Tech chat' so we could give our 2p's worth on it.

Goodness me TD that's a bit drastic.

For what its worth I had a problem with a programme not 'letting go' as it were when I closed down or did a restart. always got the end programme box, but couldn't work out what it was, finally tracked it down to something to do with the printer, now I only have it attached when I actually what to print something, if I see something interesting I save it and print later and then disconnect the printer again, it seems to have solved the problem. I don't do a lot of printing, too tight to buy the cartridges.

eke TD - dont leave us please   :'(- I really hope you get your PC sorted soon.

Update on me - for some reason Im not getting any better - if anything worse.  I was at the docs again yesterday and got another prescription.

Not wanting to moan too much but I really am not feeling too well right now (see I am moaning! - but I'll spare you the gory details :D).
After more tests morning, Ive been given yet another prescription* today for a different antibiotic and also codeine to help with the pain in my kidneys.  The latest is that it may be kidney reflux and Ive got to go back again next week.

Not sure or not if this is somehow related to the tumour that I had removed a couple of years ago which was next to my bladder (scarring?) so I'm a bit more prone to UTI type infections anyhow since then. :(

*That prepay prescription I bought <2 days ago has already paid for itself now. :)

Kitz, you are having a rotten time,  moan all you want !  It's not moaning anyway, it's keeping us informed  :)   Can you not see a different doctor ?  sometimes two heads are better than one and a second opinion might help.  Keep stuffing you up with antibiotics is easy.  If you have a kidney infection it needs sorting, and although I think you are someone who might just put up with it not wanting to bother anyone, you may need to start bothering someone  ......  please don't think I'm being bossy/nosy    :'(     I'm concerned that you are being fobbed off.... and in view of your medical history that you mention you shouldn't be fobbed off.  Put your foot down with a firm hand  :)   :flower:

I'm really sorry to hear that Kitz, the longer it drags on the more debilitating it must become. Don't push yourself, forget about everything but yourself, I know thats easier said than done when you've got other mouths to feed.

Take care and get well soon.

Edit: Just read Mrs S post and I think she is right, kidneys are the work horse of the body keeping it clean, the problem with taking antibiotics is that you are making them work when they are not 100%, perhaps a different approach is needed.

@Kitz,as you have mentioned about the tumour near your bladder.Your GP should be sending you for either an ultrasound or an MRI scan on your kidneys and the surrounding area and also sending you to see the Renal specialist at the hospital.
If you are not happy with your GP's diagnosis insist he makes you the above appointments.

When I went to the docs yesterday, I think I was prepared to be adamant about stronger/longer course of antibiotics.. I'd started to get a bit better on the last day of my first course, so I'd been assuming that the first course just wasnt long enough.

Over the past week or so I have been sending in samples which have been tested, and at first it appeared that the infection had cleared but now the pain (and fevers) are back with a vengeance.  Anyhow when I saw the doc yesterday he did seem very good and concerned and it was him that mentioned he suspected kidney reflux - normally affects kids mostly, but not unknown in adults after surgery or other trauma in that area... and it was him that arranged for the tests to be done today by a female. Those test results wont be back till next tues.

Without going into too much detail but the doc spent a fair bit of time with me yesterday explaining things so Im not unhappy with the way Ive been treated so far.
When I went today, they also confirmed that yesterdays pee sample results shows that the infection is back and also something else that is already pretty damn obvious to me.  Its the results from yesterday sample that have made them change track with different antibiotics.

So I suppose until todays test results are back next Tues Im a bit in limbo - at least they gave me some stronger painkillers today and I certainly cant complain at the way I was treated today by the staff. Its already been stated that todays results will determine what the next course of action will be -  and an appt has already been booked for that day my results are due, so I'm definitely not being ignored.
If truth be known, Im probably my own worst enemy for not going back sooner because I hate hospitals and doctors. :/

@ Kitz, I am so sorry to read that your trouble continue to assail you.
Let us hope that the medical people can identify the problem quickly and remedy it equally quickly.

Do look after yourself... :flower:

My wee techie problem pales to total insignificance compared to a poorly kidney.............can we come to a deal...I'll battle on if you will.  ;D

Sorry to hear of your woes Kitz but keep up with the medical advice.

As some might recall I had a slight miss hap where I've caught my fore arm on a door latch. It has been healing quite well (backed up by medical advice). Looks nasty but it was quite a bit of flesh that was removed so I thought keep it constantly clean and allow to breath as in don't encase it. Last night some freinds became very concerned about the scar i've got and insisted I'd put a plaster on it which they did. Took me an hour and a half to remove the damm thing this am as it bound to my skin. Now its caused a horrible mess, looks much worse and dosn;t look like I can get away without a permanent scar as I now have a deep ring shaped grove where the notable surface healing was going on

Morale of the story, stick to your guns against amateur medics and stay with proffessional advice.  >:(
