Well    .....    it looks like a hook   .....  and there is a Hook in Devon,  (there are a few others as well)   so is that it ? ............     but that doesn't cover the 'bed' bit   :'(

This type of anchor could also describe a mentor, supporter, solid confidence builder in times of stress or trouble.  ;)
