There is a Three Ashes in Hereford   ....    I was hoping I might find a place of the same name on Jersey or Guernsey or even in Cardigan Bay  ! ;D      However  ....   (feminine logic here )   there is a Hereford Sheep   .. so perhaps that's the connection with knitted garment   :D   :-\
