Many years ago I read a book by one Tristan Jones, who upon his leaving the Royal Navy at the end of the war, bought an ex-RNLI lifeboat and attempted to sail to the north pole in her... :no:

The name of this craft was "Cresswell".......and I notice two places with this name.

I think I have to allow that answer, because it's so close to what I was thinking of, which is Cressbrook in Derbyshire.

coffee grounds  ..  are dregs  ...  leftovers like ash    .....   bovine weapon ..   horn   ??    there's a place called Horn Ash in Dorset  .....  am I warm  :-\ ;D

Looks  like a  large store's vehicle  but sounds  like something you would   'throw'  !   (especially in Scotland !)

Unc, you are not that far off  .....    stick with something sounding like caber    .....      now think of a large store   ...  it may be one that's no longer in the UK   ;) ;)    the vehicle is like a lorry but for more people   ;) ;)
