Well,  this is a looooooooooooooong shot   ;D     FL on overdrive  !      Some species of Herons are raptors   .....  SO   ......  if it were confused it could be  a variation on the name   ....  SO  .... what about Herm Island, near Guernsey .....    south west,, across the water   !!       :-\     I did say it was a long shot  :D

A large raptor from South America shares a name with a brand of pipe tobacco.......the baccy catch phrase used to be "That ****** Moment"  ;)
