I wasn't aware of the white wine trick. I find that red wine is a pretty good cure for most problems. You pour it into a glass and drink it (or don't bother with the glass if you're in a hurry). ;D

well .. what a waste of an afternoon ... started off going to wickes coz they said they have the one i wanted .. an hour stuck in traffic to find they hadn't had one after all !!!  then to screwfix who only did the updated one so off to b&q who had the new ones aloso but the  plumber chap said that they are the same so i went back to screwfix coz they were cheaper.  daughter then needed the loo so had to ask the staff if she could use the loo - ok.

then they said that they dont have the pump in stock and rang the derby branch who did, so they reserved one.

half way down the A52 putting the postcode into tomtom it packed up - no gps signal !!!!!!!!!!!!

then i was dying for the loo so we gave up and came home.

Oh dear what a tale of woe  - I have visions now of the Pwiggler household all in a heap in the living room shivering and giving you black looks.

Pwiggler you should have checked for a small plumbers merchant as they would 99.9% of the time have what your looking for  :) Sorry to hear about your problem and when those pumps go bad it can be really tricky do it right and your in the clear but do it wrong and you got water everywhere.
