Actually I think its rather a cool name.  Linux isnt too far of a deviation from the Scandinavian name Linus
Why the hell not it sounds far better than some other names I could think of such as Fifi Trixibelle, or Peaches... and Ive heard of plenty of far sillier names.

Somehow I dont thing "Windows" has the same appeal though.
