What sort of speed increase would you expect by reducing the SNR margin to 3dB?

Depends on the current sync speed. Longer lines might only see a few Mb increase, shorter lines that sync in the 40-70Mb region can see roughly 8-12Mb increase between 6dB and 3dB. Lines that make good use of the D3 band benefit the most in my experience.

Wow, would have thought OR would have long abandoned this now.

Tempted to power up my modem in again and if my pair is still hooked to the DSLAM to see if it has G.INP, I only moved some furniture yesterday and ended up for a reason I cannot explain put the modem back where it was and making sure it was still plugged into the NTE5.

Powered it up but was no DSL light so no link now to the DSLAM.

Yes it was a very welcome surprise when ECI GINP was enabled - a good 10% increase in speed for me and a much more stable line.

I am hoping that they will follow up with 3db profiles but I suspect trying to even get information if they are working on this will be difficult unless someone has contacts at Openreach.
