I mean its not like it makes any difference.

If all the fibre currently runs to the other exchange, its likely they will provide to all properties from that exchange going forward so they can close the copper only exchange in the future.

Good news got email from openreach regional manager for West Midlands and he has confirmed that my area are expecting go live around October 2024 if all going well and no issues.

Exciting time now for FTTP

Can't wait

Will order FTTP 330/50 if it goes live.

Updated:

I have email Openreach via this site: https://www.openreach.com/forms/fibre-broadband-availability---customer-form last week and they have replied to me via email today I have checked your address and found there is a plan to bring full fibre to your house. The engineering work is scheduled by financial quarters and I can see the project that covers your address is scheduled to complete by the end of quarter 4 of 2024/2025. I realise this is still some way off and our plans and schedules can change but if this goes ahead as planned you should be able to order your full fibre broadband in early October 2024.

But not sure if they mean October 2025? Because of the wording - I realise this is still some way off. So, I guess more likely in 2025 not 2024. If it was in October 2024 live date, then that's great, if not, then it look likely in October 2025!

Got question to ask:

I know my area are in full fibre as planning - are they doing it via underground or better off on a new pole? As there seem load of houses in my area TF7 any postcode in last three end are all underground cable. There is no pole anywhere.

Some think pole are lots easier for OR to build full fibre rather than underground?

That entirely depends on what they decide is the best method.

If underground is already ducted then most likely that, if its not then they may lay duct, they may add a pole.  But if they were going to use a pole I would expect it would have been placed BEFORE the service is ready to order.

I would think matching how existing infrastructure is done is most likely.

...scheduled to complete by the end of quarter 4 of 2024/2025. ...

I would expect that to mean by the end of March 2025.

I was told October 2025 not that long ago yet flying along at 1Gbps now…

I suppose it’ll be like Duke Nukem Forever

Its done when it’s done.

I don't mind March 2025 because my current G.fast contract expired in December this year.
